Salsa
Last night was my first time to learn salsa and I loved every minute I spent despite my lack of stamina to keep up with my dance partners. Carlos from Pinoyjug invited me to this salsa gig at the Ciboney bar in Malate. I met Ares who is teaching salsa lessons along with his students. The bar was accomodating and the music is in full swing that none of us wasted time to jump in the dance floor and have our lessons. In a few minutes, I was able to get the basic steps and dance along with the rhythm. The trouble is that salsa has a very fast beat that my legs are cramping. I had to rest after ten minutes of dancing and down at least a glass of water. But all in all, the experience was exhilirating that I can't stop tapping my feet whenever the tune comes in my mind. I will take lessons definitely and I hope I can be as good as the rest of the guys last night.

sayaw, baby, sayaw!

Hi there! Congrats to Darius and Ciboney!

I was looking at the schedule. Sayang! I will be out of town for almost two weeks. I find it hard to go to the Salsa event on Tuesdays, but will try.

Anyway, some of us at Grupo Filipino Salsa are planning to go there on May 11. I was thinking May 13, but there is a gig at Ciboney. I have a famous dance instructor who will be visiting us and I wish to show him and his partner Ciboney. He will be giving us some free dance lesson in Salsa, Cumbia and Bachata. Those who will be at Ciboney will also learn these dances... pero... okey kaya ang date na ito kina Darius? For the mean time, I will tell my guest that we will go to Ciboney, but I would like to ask Ciboney kung pwede patugtugin ulit ang mga cd na dadalhin namin. He will be bringing cds of dance music coming from Dominican Republic, Columbia and Cuba... o hindi ba, Ciboney stands for these Caribbean cultures?
